My heart has always been in giving back to the community. If your heart is in the same place, then you're a perfect fit for us to serve. You see, when you support LMP you support a small business and support a family but you also make your memories mean more. 10% of every dollar you give (and often times, more!) goes to serve an organization that serves others. In 2013, God gave me the dream of photographing orphans, in 2015 I was able to live out that dream. Through The Archibald Project's Media Mission trips, I was able to journey to Tulcea (pronounced Tool-cha), Romania. It was a life changing trip for me. Unfortunately we cannot adopt these precious angels due to current adoption regulations but that means we should be working harder to make sure we are serving them. Each child is important, these children have a piece of my heart. I'm so very excited about partnering as a School Session photographer to make a difference in the lives of school children in Haiti! From their site:
The School Sessions exists to partner individuals with photographers worldwide to build a school in Haiti. Six years ago, an earthquake devastated much of the poverty-stricken nation, taking the lives of almost half a million Haitians and destroying thousands of schools.
Only a couple miles from the earthquake’s epicentre, the 200+ students from ECCA School, were left without a place to learn. Years later, staff and students continue to gather in a crowded and makeshift facility.
During the month of April, when you book a portrait session with a participating photographer, your session fee will help build a brand new facility for ECCA School.
In 2015, The School Sessions hosted our first global fundraiser. Our supporters (that’s you!) helped us raise over $45,000 and purchase new land for the future ECCA School. Together in 2016, we have a goal of $150,000 to fund the new building costs. Let’s get started!
